Sometimes you may wish to modify a Mainboard that is not located in the current Computer. This is precisely the purpose of the Mainboard Programmer block. To modify a mainboard, simply put it into the block's GUI and run any of the component API methods below.

Some players may want an extra challenge, or some nostalgia, and thus can start from just Punchcard instead of using the predefined UEFI and Advanced OS floppy installation disk.

To do this, first craft a Punchcard Machine block, put some paper into the input slot, enter code, hit encode and put it into a Punchcard Reader block. The connected Computer will then attempt to boot from this punchcard reader. Only if the connected punchcard reader contains no punchcard in any input slot and also not in the reader slot, the computer will attempt to boot from the installed Mainboard's UEFI.

As with real-world punchcards, each one is limited to 80 columns, so in this case, 80 characters. This means that most programs will likely need a few punchcards to work, but that will make for some interesting builds.

The example written in the gui-screenshot simply grabs the computer component and runs the beep-method to play an audible 2 second beep.
